i am new to this site
me and a buddy are heading up to china creek next year in august so what will be up there sockeye or springs or what let me know??
ps what is the docking fee for a week?
thx mike

Use the search function, type in Alberni, or China Creek, or Lone Tree, etc...you'll find lots of info. I think this year it was about the 3rd week in August before the springs showed up in numbers, sockeye's mostly over by August...can't wait for next year!:D

same here
last week of august went up and had 6 springs with in the first 45 mins lost 2 got 4 22, 20,13,8 lbs

What they said. Last 2 weeks of August are prime.
Docking fees on a weekly rate basis is $114 for 20ft and under and $132 for 21ft to 25ft. Better book early if your bringing a rig in 'cause thats prime time and its full. I believe May 1st is when they start taking reservations.
Good luck

$114[:0] woow thats alot for two 15 year old kids oh well time to get a job:D

any more hot spots to go fishing in the inlet near china creek??

you could leave china creek and go up or down the inlet and troll just about any where and if the runs in you'll catch fish, its not rocket science when they are there.

On a side note and not to steal the thread, I heard a rumor that the gravel mainline would be paved up to china creek. Anyone else heard that?
Sure would be nice!

How far into September does the China Creek area stay decent? Does it die off fast after August?

This year...last decent day for me was September 7 (5 over 20 lbs). Didn't fish the 8th (rained that afternoon/evening). 2 fish in 6 hours on the 9th...and something like 5 fish for entire fleet on 10th.
I'm no expert on the area, but that's what I observed.

We were there too at the exact same time as you Backbait. The past two years have been excellent in the first 2 weeks of Sept but this past year has been the exception to all the rules.
'Whacko'is the only way to describe it.
