Cheap Rods

I have a few of these. 9 ft Spinning and 10ft Casting. For ~$100 rods, I find them about as balanced and sensitive as they come. Haven't used any of their 'mooching' rods, but I would assume they would bring the same level of quality.

Great as a backup rod (many use them as primary too), I have 2 the purpose of backup and sometimes for stacking. I assume you want the mooching rods? Be aware they are NOT $40, the 10'6" are $109 on WSS's site. ;)

All in all...not much bad someone can say about a rod in that price range.

Watch for sales at your local retailer and can quite often find them for less. I got mine as backups about 5 yrs ago and think I paid $75 per.

This generation of Convergences is crap. $50 rods... if that. Buy a Technium... $139.99

I like the convergence rods, we have 4 of them I believe and never had an issue with any of them once, I have used the technium rods for a whole season and I can't say I noticed a difference between the techinum and the convergance, mine are the 10'6" rods and are fun to play fish on and always gets the fish to the boat without breaking or falling apart for coming up 4 seasons now and they're cheap rods, I have no complaints about them. I would recommend them to anyone.

Me too. Been using them for about 12 years now. Never a problem. Got a new model this year in my Xmas stocking but have no opinion yet. Reel seat seems slightly weaker to me but we'll see.

Ya....I may have saw incorrectly as there were rods going every which way in the shopping frenzy of those around me.

Inexpensive as backups....but some crappy little Shimano or Daiwa 9' rods if need be. I have 10'6" as backups for being away on longer trips like up in Kyuquot...don't want to spend 4 days fighting the majestic spring salmon up there on 9' rods after someone*** sends a rod and reel overboard.

***The rod that went overboard was not myself or my other half but a friend of our hosts and it was only a 10'6" Fenwick with a Shimano 4000GT but it still hurt having to slum it with a shittier rod than that one for the week.

I've had my only technium since 2003 or 2004 and I remember paying 149.99 at berrys. 129 is a heck of a deal.

Never tried a technium before. I love the titans but I'm always looking for an excuse to get something new to play with. How are they??

What about the Amundson Theron mooching rods? They are very nice and a good deal, They are on sale for $99.99 reg price was $249.99
