I remember years ago we did very well casting for winter springs from the end of the breakwater in victoria! Is anyone still fishing this area with any success? Did very well in the summer as well sometimes even better than the boats trooling around us!

Hi C.K.,

I've seen spincaster's off the breakwall during the summer months, usually mid to end of August. I never see caster's in the winter
as those winter fish usually run deeper.

There was talk of a pink net pen program off the harbor which
would really enhance that fishery.

any members here been to the breakwateras of late in a boat or from shore? I have to go to vic and am confidant i can get into a few winter feeders from the end of the breakwater, just looking for any recent reports from the past week or so! Thanks

Hey C-K, I admire your confidence and best of luck but if it were that easy I assume that slab of concrete would be smothered in anglers every single day.

Last weekend I have seen a few boats close to the entrance about in casting distance to the breakwater tip. Don't know how they did though...
