Campion 542 specs

Would anyone be able to help with measuring their Campion 542 for me. I have been looking at them and want to know if it will fit in my garage. I have an Explorer 185 which just fits.
Looking for length from motor to bow and motor to end of hitch ( do you have a folding hitch?). Also looking for total height from ground on trailer. Is it on bunks or rollers.

If you have a standard garage probably not. The self bailing adds a lot of height. Mine fit a 12x24x10 Portable Garage, just barely. With the bimini on you really had to finesse it under. Mine was on rollers, sorry I sold it in the spring so cannot measure it.

Thanks, the boat shelter helped keep it out of the weather over the years. It has lasted 19 years with only the front door panel requiring attention due to the zipper thread rotting. The boat sold for more than I paid so well worth in investment in a shelter. Now I'm in a Kingfisher 2425 that has seen a bit more weather and is not quite as pretty, getting some love, but way bigger. 8ft'itis!

Sold the boat but here is some proof that it’s possible. Of note, my garage has one extra panel height-wise and its 24’ deep, it was a tight squeeze.

I have a 98, I can measure it for you later. I think the newer ones may be a bit higher than mine.
Mine is on bunks and no folding trailer hitch.

20ft to the breakaway hitch, add 3 ft for that= 23 ft with motor down. It may be a bit bigger with the hydrafoil.
Also had to remove the light bulb to fit
9’10” my carport is 10 ft hieght
Luv my boat. I also had to remove the arch so it fit in my carport

Great. Thanks for that. How tall is your top off the windows? I have to drop my top to get it into the garage. Figure I will have to do that.

Looks to be about 29 inches from top of window to top of binaby. Once the front upper window is out ( 30 sec) the top can lay down quick and easy.

Thanks for all your help. My garage opening is 7’4” so it will be mighty close. Might have drop the front of the boat and roll it out. Right now I can hook to my truck and pull it out of the garage. I think I have also seen trailers that the boat sits between the wheel fenders, which drops it too.

Might have to go to a dealer and look around at one with a tape.

I have a folding hitch and I measured tonight for a spot. it was 24, so add an additional 3 ft for nonfolding hitch. I have a tuff trailer that is sized for 15-18 ft boats - TS3000...

What year of 542 are you looking at? The early 542 is just a rebranded 185 so they will be the same dimensions. I think it was 2005 and later that they changed to the taller self bailing hull design but I’m sure someone here can confirm. I had the 2000 542 for 10 years, just awesome hull.

Yes, in 2005 the hull was redesigned to be self bailing.
