Campbell River - late September

A couple of buddies are thinking of heading to CR late September. Will there be much around aside from Chums? Thinking they are likely a bit late.

Bit of everything. Some late Chinook, feeders, coho, chums, Lings, prawns. Kinda could do anything and everything.

still unreal coho fishing provided it doesn’t rain absolute balls. springs too. was out squid jigging off savary in mid october last year and came in across kitty and nailed two decent springs. so yeah still good fishing opportunities that time of year

Interesting post. What is your method of jig fishing squid. There used to be a large run of squid in Comox and an easy visible catch.

these aren’t opals. im jigging for what i assume are “ Armhook squid” ( lots of discussion on here about the actual ID some are saying humboldt but i call BS ) anyways…deep deep fishery. we were fishing 700-1000 feet deep. takes 10 minutes to get jig back manually! basically, look for the clouds of krill. under them are the hake. under them typically are the squid feeding on the hake.
