Campbell River Fishing Derby

Besides the browns bay chum derby in october, has campbell river ever hosted a fishing derby similar to the one in port alberni?

Used to be a "World's Guide Tournament" for some years but that ended quite a while ago.

The annual Tyee season in the Tyee Pool is a "tournament" of sorts and now 90 years old, but not what you are referring to methinks.

Offhand I can't recall any others but there are older wiser and more knowledgeable guys around who may know better.

Maybe they'll chime in a bit.

Tyee Marine usually does a free derby that runs all summer, not a traditional tournament but prizes for the largest fish weighed in at either store. starts mid-May I think?
