No it's the one across from the new Mohawk on the old island hwy. Can be sketchy at super low tides. I'm not sure but the one on the spit may be better at low tides, I've never launched there I have a small boat so any tide will do for me!

The city dug some of the gravel out of the launch, but instead of trucking it away they piled it right beside the launch on the beach. Couple of high tides and a good Se'er or two and it will be piled full of gravel again. Great to see them do it on the cheap.

I believe there are MoE rules about simply 'removing' gravel from the foreshore. There might have been other things going on there.

I have a small boat too and was smokin the wheels getting er out about a month ago on a really low tide. Is Ken Forde any better or can you even launch there now?

Man this brings back memories.. When I was a kid we used to stay in behind the service station at a make shift camp ground rite across from the boat ramp and next to a motel, don't ask me the name of the places but it must be the same place. There was a Japanese family that ran a bait shop and boat rental place on the water there,, wonder whats up with them ??? great people. Man we spent quite a few weeks there every summer from about 1975 - 1980 then thats when we started heading up to Mcneil for a few years. The first year we stayed up there the camp site at Telegraph wasn't even built yet, we stayed in the bush at the boat ramp at Bear cove then the next year the camp site first opened up and we stayed there a while.. Here I go off on a memory run sorry [:I] [:I]

It kind of fits in with the live bait question I remember watching the guys rake for herring out in the straight then they would bring in the bait for sale,, good times man. Yup there was some good fishin in those waters then no doubt about it...

After a couple runs this year, don't worry about cruise ships in Campbell next year. 7 Seas won't be there, just another big rip off when you are at the end of an Alaskan cruise and only a few hours from Van.

Big Joe, got a chance to head out yet Hardy way? Send me an email if ya don't wanna side track the thread.
Cheers.

I don't fish for a living...I live to fish!
