Using AI slop is a great way to completely nuke any consumer goodwill and trust.Someone, not me, who knows what they are doing could do up a great webpage, complete with images and even video. This is terrible but took a few seconds to prompt. If you take a real hourston photo or two someone could create a great video. Only people with the link can see this, and I can take it down as soon as you would like but thought it was fun.
I agree its all lip service and a pipe dream unless they truly follow through which seems unlikely.. costs keep climbing the longer you take the worse its going to be better get on with it loli highly doubt we will see another post from the o/p
I agree, I blame the lack of skills rather than the tools. With some good photos and even a video of someone on an older fixed-up hourston, someone with skills could create a good website and some short videos. A prototype is better if you want a Cybertruck launch with a bunch of pre-orders, but time is money.Using AI slop is a great way to completely nuke any consumer goodwill and trust.
What did Stizzla acquire? Haven't seen his old boat posted either.Hard to pay 60K for Stizzla boat when you know what he paid for it.

This thread has veered completely off topic.
The other one was started by someone else who was planning on putting the old molds to use and building new boats. The current thread was started by the new owner of the molds and he simply made that known in the old thread. I have closed the old thread so there will be no more duplication.
Merging the two threads would have been even more confusing as there would have been an "old" and "new" OP talking about the subject matter. The old thread is still available to view and read, people just can't respond to it anymore.
Rome wasn’t built in a day folks we are working on completed renderings. “Not AI slop”. As I said previously the shipyard is busy. Fibreglass department is swamped shop is jammed packed with new boats being made for various manufacturers. If it’s made a priority to build these new boats we will. We have already made substantial capital investments in the tooling and windshields. We want interested buyers to reach out to gauge interest so we can make this a priority. The business has operated since 1967 it is 3rd generation … so to suggest it’s cash strapped or we are in some form in need of proving ourself is beyond ridiculous in my personal biased opinion. We have built over those years close to 500 vessels of all varieties and sizes up to 110ft. We in no way need to beg for business. This is a passion project to keep the legacy of Hourston glascraft alive.
Jesus! If people brought up stuff I did in the 2000’s I wouldn’t get out of bed. Let’s cheer them on!WestBay did go bankrupt in the mid 2000’s.
I’m hoping to shake their hand at the boat show.Jesus! If people brought up stuff I did in the 2000’s I wouldn’t get out of bed. Let’s cheer them on!
The business never went bankrupt it was restructured. Might I remind you of a little thing called the 2008 financial crisis… considering nearly every other yard or builder has ceased to exist. In my opinion It shows business acumen. The boat industry isn’t an easy one to navigate. 50 plus years of continuous operations. Regardless of scale shows dedication to quality service. With life long repeat customers, generations of reputation. Over 100 years of combined experience. Why would you want anyone else to build you a boat? Even today we are working hand in hand to help build new luxury yachts, maybe not under the Sonship brand but still are well known in the industry. We collaborate with many of the known builders in province. Instead of gossiping make an appointment come see the yard. Come see the tooling and let’s build a boat instead of *****.WestBay did go bankrupt in the mid 2000’s.
