Boat show at convention center.

I’ve never seen so many insurance companies in attendance. What’s up. Must be a big market for them now. Had to be 6 or more of them with booths.
Possibly the lack of big booths due to the space so they had to sell out a bunch of smaller ones?

Is the much anticipated 17’ Hourston from the original molds at the show?

Well, at least they’re consistent. Highlight was the chicken sandwich for lunch
I'm suspicious it won't go back to BC place next year. The show has been underwhelming since 2021 (or whenever it came back). The interesting stuff all goes to Seattle now. Many vendors aren't interested in going to van anymore and it's showed. It was a dud the 2 years post rona and by all accounts it's only getting worse. RIP boat show.

Went yesterday, nothing too special but I always enjoy it. I’ve always liked the Cutwaters. Those big Coastal Craft 33’ are unreal. Just brutal that Grady stopped making the 232 Gulfstream

Best deal I saw was on the Suzuki outboards. To me unreal. A 200hp was reduced to $17k and the matte black 250hp (just a sick looking motor) was $24,000. That’s quite the drop from MSRP of $33k-ish…. Which they would not budge on back in 2023 when I was repowering. At that time, I paid $27,200 for my Merc 250 and had to go to Alberni. Local Merc dealer was about $31k, GA had the Yammy for $32, and the zuke was $33-34k at the time. So $24k is a steal. Woulda bought it in a heartbeat but 3 years late for me…

I only had an hour and a half from the time it opened until I had to walk back to the Bayshore for checking out and heading for Horseshoe Bay to catch the ferry home but I thought the venue was bigger and better than I expected. There were no screaming deals on fishing equipment though so I left with empty hands which I rectified at Harbour Chandler on the way home lol
