Boat racing road trips

One of the best parts of the boat racing years was the road trips, probably because we were younger and more daring than today.
This was a great trip to Moses Lake WA for a race in 1989 or1990, which was already around 80 degrees on the May long weekend. The marquee at the Arctic Circle drive in, owned by my sister in laws parents, was customized by my brother for our arrival. Rocket was the nickname of a friend I brought with me.

****...always loved Arctic Circle. Are there any still around?
this one was closed by the owners at retirement time, there was a newspaper article as they used to help feed folks who were down and out and couldn't afford to eat. Small communities, nothing like them.

ps..was hard to concentrate on racing as Moses Lake is a 747 training field with touch and go's happening all day, pretty cool to see.
