Here's a good report about the fella.

[h=1]Captain Josh Temple[/h] Back in the mid 90s, I first fished with Josh Temple before he’d taken the world of big-game fishing by storm when he was the fishmaster at a small resort tucked into a protected slot in northernmost British Columbia. Even then, I recognized exceptional talent in a young captain who, it turned out, would soon be going on to bigger, more exciting venues. In the ensuing years, we kept in touch and, in 2002, I traveled to Puerto Vallarta where Temple had begun exploring the area’s potential for its billfish, tuna and other pelagic species. Though there were at least some charter operations established in PV at the time, in the years they’d been there none had been as successful as Temple; in a few years—boosted by his first major feature focusing on that fishery, in Sport Fishing magazine—he’s almost single-handedly turned PV into one of the premier destinations anywhere in the world for huge yellowfin (many 200 to 300 pounds and some well over that) and marlin—stripes, blues and particularly blacks. Combining careful attention to basics with an unceasing in trying new areas and methods, Temple’s become one of the hot skippers in the world today. Despite it all, so far Temple’s remained a funny, irreverent, easygoing dude without the arrogant self-importance that, for some captains, accompanies international recognition.

I hear a lot of negative talk about the guy but I have yet to read anything negative about him. He is living the dream in a BIG way. Congrats to him.

Josh is a hell of a cameraman........... Josh.. do tell (with pics)

A win like that, in Cabo ? I'm sure the celebration party will suck. Congrats Josh. As if you weren't killing us back here already :) will be seeing Lora in a couple weeks, thinking you will still be on the cortez..... Epic win for pelagic crew.

We'll remember that next time you rant about the guides LOL :D:p:). You will support a celebrity guide but reak havoc on certain local guides hmmmm. Some who Pioneered Tofino so Josh could get his start. There are ALWAY's people in the background that deserve recognition and never get it. Remember that before picking fights.

Whether your a guide or not is completely irrelvant weather I chose to get along with you or not. I get along fine with lots of guides. If you are an idiot you are an idiot. It just so happens that there some guide idiots I don't care for. Your job does not make you any less of doorknob.

I was in Cabo San Lucas working on board a private yacht for the event in 2004, the shotgun start creates quite the stir. This isn't my video but here it is: [t75zFhFn8TU] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t75zFhFn8TU

We got into one Blue, and a bunch of Sails. We weren't in the tourney, because the owner couldn't afford an entry fee. He is only worth over half a billion, so I can totally understand why we didn't go in. We spent 5 winters down south and the biggest billfish we got was about a 350lb Blue. Lots of Sails, Dorados, and Wahoo. The Bisbees tourney is a serious one, those guys know what they're doing out there for sure.

Kind of reminds me of leaving the river mouth on a long weekend in Rennie....

Mind you, the boats are a little nicer....

Josh, todo que quiro saber si estoy ivintado ala FIESTA 8>)

Ya, that whole event is pretty un-freakin believable!! Congrats to the landslide winning Captain and Crew...good gawd, is there any other way to live life?! Just awesome fellas!

That shotgun start is like nothing I have ever seen. Balls of steel, worth the price of admission. Speaking of which, just curious as to how many boats enter and what is the entry fee? Must be skyward if the prize is up in the millions!

Crazy crazy crazy.
