Big Island Fishing Charters - Kona Area/Hawaii

Not the big island, but on Oahu there is a flats fishery for pretty monster bonefish. I think that would be neat to try.
But back to the Big Island, has anyone ever fished over on the rainy side. I remember looking at the ocean there. Impossibly clear at the rocky beack i was on and looked deep too. Looked fishy

Quite honestly I think you get better bang for buck fishing south point of Big Island with rod and reel off cliffs or on several other places west of island.

Having visited Hilo rainy side as well I am sure you can find spots there too.

It's seems pricey and ridiculous to be paying 1300 to 2000 USD and up with xchange when you can't really keep your fish. Plus I saw them they are not fishing far out at all.

Sound like a good deal to me for commercial fisherman. You get your guests to catch fish for you instead of hiring deckhands.

I am back now and saw a lot of locals just fishing from shore. Seems like more fun...

We kept all we could eat tuna and ono on the charter we went on, mileage may very like with anything i guess. I found the price to be reasonable at the time, but our dollar was not as bad as it is now.

When we went a charter our of port hardy was more expensive then one out of kona
