Big and Little Q

People sure are tight lipped :) Lets see some pictures guys at the very least.

My partner and I fished all day last Wednesday, mostly off French Creek. Later in the afternoon we slid over to the LQ and picked up one nice almost tyeeIMGP0027.jpg with a purple flasher and a 4" Irish Cream spoon. We lost another one on a Cookies & Cream spoon (only on for a couple of tugs).

I returned on Saturday, what a zoo, boats everywhere (and some not very courtious ones too). The weeds were terrible, OMG the gear was up & down & up & down until my arm almost fell off (gotta win the lottery and get some electrics). Cheers; twogone

Hey Tubber, that's a great idea, I'm going to investigate that, it would certainly help. The main problem last week at the LQ is there was so much weed it was sliding down the fishing line as well as the downrigger wire and fouling the swivel in front of the flasher so the mono was getting twisted.
This is all pretty much new to me because before the arthritis came along I was almost exclusively a river and beach fisherman. I appreciate any advice I can get. Many thanks! Cheers; twogone

My biggest problem the other day wasn't weed so much..........

It was the number of big red jellyfish that kept running into my rod lines an dragging on them.

About 10 ten times the wife yells "fish on!".......then you know it isn't when it feels like you're winding in a lead anvil.......

Make sure you was your hands good before taking a leak, those jellies burn !

You betcha......

I also had a Dogfish fish attack me..

It was about a 4 footer......couldn't get the hook out at the side of the boat so decided to bring it aboard and then hold it with my foot while I quickly pliered the hook out. (Well aware of the spine and whatnot)

So I get it in and as soon as it was on the floor it did a 360 and lunged for my ankle, mouth wide open.

Because there was about an inch of space between my skin and the leg of my jeans ,it only managed to grab a mouth full of denim.

It was actually pretty tough getting my jeans out of it's mouth as it wouldn't let go for awhile.

Finally got the hook out and lifting it by the tail with a pair of pliers, I returned it from whence it came.

them dogfish are nasty hey cant turn your back on em for a second..and the tail !....learned that fishing with my dad as a wee boy in Campbell River..

Me too as a wee boy but in Cow. Bay. Dad had a piece of plywood attached to the side of the boat and a machetti on board. Mud sharks were a dispised creature back then (1950) so they were decapitated and became crab food (if the crabs would eat em). Easy to get the hook out when there is no fish attached to the head.

I seem to remember the same thing, hard to gingerly release something that wants to kill you..lol

Fish Assasin (the multiple tyee man) wants to know how big Q is going...

Personally I'd ask him for some info on where his tyee's came from first because all I saw were pictures with no clues as to the when/where/why and with what!

I started another thread so I could read any new news about the Big Q. Didn't know GDW was the moderator. Personally he must have something to hide.... Maybe his freezers full of Tyee's... LOL :)

Just so you know GDW I have not caught a Tyee in over a year, and all the pictures I posted were posted the same day if not minutes of the person catching the fish on the appropriate thread. So it shouldn't be to hard to figure things out and put 2 & 2 together.

Thanks for you help,
FA

Little Q fishermen have gone zipperlip..............no posts at all lately.....but there's minimum 20 boats, often more, fishing it every night for past two weeks......

Most of the posting occurs when the early birds start posting too early in the season before a fishery typically starts or they're whining when it's go time and there's no fish. When it's the typical time to fish and things go quiet it's an indicator it's time to launch and go. LOL
