Best Time to fish Nootka

Hey all

Whats would be the best time to head up to Critter Cove this summer? June? July?
Feedback be great, as its a long trip up

July/Aug seems to be peak although I'm sure there are fish there in June. If you're going to book CC, better do it right away as I suspect they are booked up or close to it as final payments have to be made April 1 for pre bookings. Good time to ask right now. It's a long enjoyable trip!

Depends if you want offshore, onshore, or inside the sound. You can't go wrong with late July early August.

I don't know when the best time is. We fish the onshore area on Aug long weekend and have a great time. Lots of fish last year, not so many Coho tho

Go on salmonuniversity .com -look up Nootka pretty well all laid out there-be sure to check closed areas as some of it is now closed.-all still pretty pertinent.

fish usually show up inside in good numbers just after the middle of July and increase over a few weeks. As hambone states, late july early aug is your sure bet.

Can't beat November !!!! Fishing is hot then, don't bother with July or August it's dead then.

Kudos to you Pescador. Some fishers think fishing spots should be kept secret. I don't and I give you credit for taking the same view. The resource should be shared. More anglers mean that the resource will be protected, and hopefully enhanced, by more people. It is such a rich and bountiful resource in our part of the world.

I was over there for the 1st time last year and ended up doing 3 trips. Had a blast. Mid June for Hali and bottom fish then 2X in July for Spring fishing, best being the last weekend in July. I will be over there the 1st week of June if the winds allow and then July 20th weekend. I would love to get over there the end of July but have a family trip to SK the the last week of July and 1st of Aug. Time for Walleye and Pike fishing... plus some great un-fished trout lakes. I will be in a 20' blue and white 1993 spectrum.... If you see me during those times say high. Will be popping into Critters for fuel at some point.

Just got back 2 wks. ago from our down south holiday. Have not been on the forum for a month. Miss you guys/gals!!

Been fishing the Nootka areas for over 35yrs (how did that happen I thought my 40th b-day was coming up this summer) Anyway you have a 99.99 chance of tubbing out during the last 2 wks. of July & frst 2 wks. of August.
