Best Socket Set and Boat/truck Tools

After finally needing to get reading glasses, I've decided all my old stainless Mastercraft sockets are junk. I've put up with their plastic broken cases and hard-to-read socket sizes for way too long. What are people keeping for tools and their trucks these days? Not just sockets...?

Stanley black sockets look well labelled, and I saw Milwaukee seems to be labelled. I have a big set of Mastercraft Maximum Impacts, but they aren't great for keeping in the truck or taking on the boat given the size. Does it make sense to just use impacts, all the time even when using a socket set?

Wanted to give a shout out to KMS tools and Pinquic, they had a special Navy Edition on sale for $24 in store that I finally bought for a couple of customers. Can't find it online but they had them on the counter in Saanich https://www.kmstools.com/picquic-mariner-rust-resistant-multi-screwdriver.html

I bought some Icon 1/4 drive for the boat at Harbour Freight and they are pretty decent, might even be some of the closest to snap on feel I've seen lately (only 6 point though which I don't prefer). If you have an opportunity south of the boarder it's nice stuff. Not large etched writing but better than mastercraft. I need readers as I'm hitting the 5-oh this week but don't feel I need the large labels. My go box for a trip is mostly older Allen, craftsman and snap on that I've acquired over the years.

I finally bought the Milwaukee socket set in the packout tray after looking at them for a year or so, I got the metric and SAE 1/4" and 3/8" set, 106 pieces, which is very good quality and it's pretty functional as you can lift out the tray from the packout to take the sockets to where you're working.

The formed cases hold the sockets well and they can be removed easliy unlike some of the Mastercraft or Stanley sets, where you need a screwdriver to pry the socket out of it's case.

They feel very well made and are a pleasure to use.

The set was about $280 on sale at KMS, not cheap but I well worth it in my opinion.
