Best salmon fishing in may

Would like some opinions on where I should Moore my boat in may,I intend to Moore in sooke in june. so really it's between mooring in oakbay or somewhere close to the inner harbour. Which is better fishing oak bay flats,Constance bank,or the waterfront in may?

really its the same area, only 10-15 mins away from each other by water. May in the past has had a really nice run of big fish that hang out on the flats, hit several 20's and a 31lber in may myself. Constances almost always has something, but rarely anything of size.

If I had to choose I'd vote the flats.

I'll 2nd poppa's recommendation; also add both areas can be especially hot when needle - fish & salmon show up at the same time. This is also when little jimmies & Oak Bay specials shine...

Barkley Sound area is consistent in May nice BQers and love the hali fishing before the flock of boats come easy picking and big close to shore.

good advice here! I wouldn't put the boat in gear on the flats without a UV squirt of some kind in the water

Is that a fact? I thought we were going to be able to hold one per day possible this year? I thought it was still under consultation.

No, until June 13 all wild's over 67cm must be released.
