I always buy rope from Army & Navy and floats from Berry's.

PNT carries Novabraid...personally I have gone to Novabraid for pretty much all the ropes and lines I use. It's top quality and the Nova is for Nova Scotia: Novabraid is made in Yarmouth.

Having done some splicing on chinese rope...I will happily pay for Novabraid over various imported rope-shaped objects.

The stuff I bought from pnt for prawns is like that. We spool it in a keg bucket and even at that it can be a chore. No idea of the name and all that junk wasn't cheap between 4 ladner traps, 2 big floats, lines, weights etc...round so far is about 30 bucks a prawn!
