going to winter harbour from the main land july 19th. should i reserve aa spot on the ferry knowing that i am towing 52 ft including truck and i am also over height. or is it not that big of a deal as long as you get there with ample time to spare. oh leaving horseshoe bay heading to nanaimo.

Yes as long as you know your arrival time if you're even 2 minutes late you lose your reservation and your money, not that it's that much.

If you are making a ressie be absolutely sure you have your length correct if they measure the rig and it's different you're sent to the back of the line.:(

I have found if you get the first boat in the morning there is always space. If you are leaving after that I would reserve, it isn't worth the lost fishing time sitting at the dock waiting for the next ferry.

And, I have set at the dock a many a day! [:0]

Given the cost of everything else, why risk missing your ferry. Do it.

By "loops" I am assuming you are talking Kamloops? If you are, you should look into the 7:45 am out of Tsawwassen-Duke Point ferry? I personally prefer Tsawwassen over Horseshoe. It is closer for you and much easier to get to. Plus, you don't have to drive through Vancouver?

Just my 2 cents!

I do this run every year and I have never had problems getting on. My set up is a bit shorter than yours at 47 feet but still I have never found the waiting time to justify missing a reservation. At worst you may have to wait an hr,, not a big deal gives you time to stretch out from the drive and get a snack.

And also,, definetly do the Tsawwassen run especialy with a long load.

Good luck.
