Barkely in early june

Hey Kelly last summer I stayed at a "resort" called seabeam in bamfield. It is more like a hostel with a common bathroom, kitchen and living room. You rent a bedroom with a couple of bunkbeds. It is a bit run down but good enough for a couple fishermen that is for sure! The best part about seabeam is your not even 3 minutes away from the wall and argyle lighthouse (i think thats the name). Great feader fishing at dawn and dusk!

We stayed there for 3 nights and twice we caught fish right as the sun was going down. If we were staying anywhere else we would have had to pull our gear earlyier to get back to the camp.

Seabeam also has several 18-30 travel trailers that sleep 2-4 people. I've never stayed in them, or even seen them, but it sounds like a fairly cheap option ($50 -90 a night). Maybe someone else on here has stayed there.

I'm driving a new ride this season, sold the Wellcraft...look out for the fat boy Grady! Rick Devison also bought a Grady, so Ian's callin us the Grady Bunch...think he's jealous, but wait until you see the nice mods he made to his Prowler - awesome, and you won't believe the difference. See you soon.

Searun, ya I thought it was fitting, it should give him a bit of a laugh.. Look forward to seeing the new ride. I will be at Harrisons for the season. It sounds like there are a few changes to the guide line up.. When you up?? We will have to hook up for a few.-cheers dirty:D

Dirty - no e recieved!! Send it to the Mills email.

Pat - Sounds like a nice ride. Good on you, should make for a great season.

You guys are racialists...

When are you arriving out here in paradise? We should have a little guide pre derby in May or something.

Town is really starting to come to life in preparation for the season, it's exciting. I'm on day three of an eight day gig right now.
It's a bit slower than it was, but there are still fish around.

Gimee the gaff!!!

Osama and Millsy, do you guys think theres going to be any work for a contract guide this summer? It seems to be really slow everywhere, in fact most lodge bookings are down by as much as 50% in the Nootka area.

IFL - I'd get ahold of Chad at Swale Rock if I were you. I think he might be doing the contract guide hiring for Harrison this season.

Dirty should be able to confirm this.

50% down! woh. I don't think most of the lodges in Bamfield are taking that kind of a hit from what I can tell. Looks like its gonna be a busy season here...

Hopper, no racism here, all brotherly love.. Ya the derby sounds like a great idea.. I will get me another mail off a little later today..

I.F.L.

Shoot me an email with the credentials and I will pass it over to Chad.. Not sure what is available, we will have a better idea over the next few weeks once the brass comes in and we are able to sit down and see where things are at.cheers-dirty:D

Dirty, good to hear you will be out in Barkley again. What's the plan, are you and Chad around this summer at Harrisons? Heading up for a stint in the Charlottes again, or are you sticking down south?

There's always a lucky in the cooler for you if you make it over to Mills Landing.

Thanks Jeff...Like Chad, no harm no foul....all in good clean fun. I'm close to being in the water. Taking the boat to Breakers Saturday to let Gordie have a go at my steering system for the kicker. We tried a hydraulic ram but it didn't work out, so we are now moving onto Gordies idea of connecting the main engines with the kicker through a cable system. I still have some bilge alarms to install and figure out my fish cleaning table before I'm in the water....should be another week or so. All this Transport Canada compliance stuff is driving me mad...it's taking 4 times as much time to install this stuff than I planned for.

Took her for the maiden run from Schooner Cove to Dingy Dock Pub on Sunday - what a nice ride...but really, really big. Takes some getting used to and the twin power rocks...you know you are sitting on 450 HP....good thing there's no photo radar out there.

How about a little fun derby over the long weekend in May???

Jeff, did I see your ride in Breakers getting new Zuke power?? That will be sweet.
