Headed out with Albernifisher for a wet butt day on the west coast.

First order of business was to drop the crab traps and get more fuel, then we were going to head offshore for our first hali's of the season...

But the water at Cape Beale had different ideas for us.

So rather than tempt fate, we decided we'd get some more beer and go trolling for springs. We mananged three fish into the boat, with one 11 or so pounds that Gary caught. We also lost one.

Two of the fish came from Sarita, and the other from Rainy Bay.

The weather was HORRIBLE!!! Windy and POURING rain almost the whole day, so we didn't see a lot of other boats out there putting in any effort.

I'm glad we did though. I've almost even dried off now.

Without at least a few of THOSE type fishing days each year we wouldn't appreciate flat, sunny summer days nearly as much :D

How was the crabbing???

Fished Pill point a couple hours pulled about 5 to the boat all just under size, took a run out to swale rock and non stop action all day kept lots of double headers 4, biggest was about 12#
Nice day out there !
The boat launch on the river is not that fun when she is moving !!!!!!!

Just got back from 2 days in the sound.

Weather kicked the hell out of us. Lost a couple of fish and then managed to find something AWEFUL in Sarita bay that took all the gear from us.

Went to the Nook and ate crab and got hammered while licking our wounds.

Fished this morning rather reluctantly but were rewarded with a couple.

God it was wet out there.

Glad to see someone is venturing out.
Nog's right...too much information![:0]
Videos confirm what my kids have been saying....yucky weather!
I ready to come home now........

You and Matt should have a comedy show Paul.

Hows the prarie???

Bellinghamer, yep, the Nook has gas, Bamfield not so much.

Hey Stream

Copper II lost a big crab trap in Sarita a few years ago when one of his other buddies tossed it over and the rope didn't uncoil properly. Maybe you hooked onto it. Did you mark it on your gps???? He's been trying to find it ever since.

It's kind of been a sore spot with him ever since.

Thx for the pics salty,,, looks wet but nice out there....

i was just out there from thursday to saturday.
fished sarita bay and rainy bay. hooked 6 in sarita bay and 2 in rainy bay.
nothing big, most were small. might have had one good one. it was peeling off a bit of line but nothing major. oh well.
still no bait around out there. west coast herring are screwed.
