Does anyone know the outlook for Bamfield salmon forcast for this year? I am heading over the Last weekend in July 25th-30th any advice would be great!!:D

Not sure of the official forcast, but I think it will be a great year. Spent last weekend up there and we tagged out with fish from 15-26 pounds. Not bad for this early in the season. I released many in the 10 pound range and lots of shakers.

sounds good. were you fishing inside or off shore

the forcast for robertson creek hathery calls for a strong return of springs and coho. theres gunna be more 4,5, and 6 year old springs this year!
should be fun!

Thanks for the reports guys. Sounds like it's gonna be a good year. Have any of you tried cut plugging or is it mainly trolling spoons and chovies?

Fishing for springs and hali from Ukee has been pretty good of late. Of course we haven't been able to get out well offshore as often as we'd like due to weather... When we can, the hali's are certainly there in numbers! And the size range ain't all that bad, with a few over 40 to hand already.
The springs appear to be making a decent showing in tighter than last year, with a good many coming from Florencia, Long Beach, Southbank and the Lighthouse Bank. While the "inside" fisheries are also happening, the fish appear to be smaller than those just outside. Range outside has been into the 30's, while most inside run an average of ~ 10 or so.

Run projections are strong for springs this year, and the coho are already almost a nusience in some areas. All in all, it looks like a banner year!! Hope to see some of you out on The Pond!!

Tight Lines!
