Argent Test-fishing vessel???

Can anyone tell me if the Argent keeps all the Sockeye it catches?

I have seen this boat around in the inlet all the times every year. A lot of people said that this fisheries boat makes sets of net, collect, count, gather, and release sockeyes. If this boat really keep sockeyes, then I will be very concerned.

Years ago, I had a very close call by this boat going straight at full speed towards me in a small metal tin boat while this boat puts the net in and I was trolling at that time at China Creek Wall.

Just looking at DFO site and so far the test fishing vessel Agrent has caught 37,000 soc's in the canal. I would hope they release them. Doesn't any one know for sure???

my friend works on one out of browns bay they do release them if able to but will keep the bleeders for foodbank or some charity ive been told

the test boats in reny are catch and kill i would think they would do the same.

No, they don't. The Argent retains but a small percentage of their test catches, and DOES release the vast majority. I'll have a boo and see if I can dig up the actual numbers retained...
