Area19 closed species

Thought i would review the DFO openings/closure listing for area 19
and this is what i found :

Halibut- closed
lingcod -closed
rockfish-closed
prawns - closed

Kind of dismal when there is only one species (Chinook) open ,that will likely
be affected in March when the early Fraser fish are present.

Just pointing out that I am envious of you guys that can see and smell the salt everyday. I got enough fish in 4 trips last year, but I would still like to play on the ocean more often.

What type of rod and reel do I need-?I know someone who has gear- I hear the willey "Sculpin" get as big as 31/2 lbs
