Are they Alaskian Plugs ?

Today I went to Nanaimo for getting my fishing gears. I found three chrome plugs. They are heavier and very shiny, than the tomic plugs. I want to know are they Alaskan Plugs?

I have couples of krippled K spoons, two largest McKnight, couples of medium McKnight and two small McKnight spoons.

Interested in about the coho killers. They are heavier and shiny than the coho killers. I suspect that they are 3 different names but no name on them, Krippled Needle fish and ALgonquin Blanchard.

I want to know are they rare? Have you been use those lures in a long time ago?

Those Krippled Needlefish look like a more hefty Coho Killer...

Maybe they stand up to fish better?

Classic fishing gear. Sell the plugs on Ebay. I think they may be knockoffs....not 100% on that though? Silver Horde ripped off their Coho Killers from those. The Krippled Needlefish work great. I have a few boxes.

In your very top picture of plugs.....the one on the upper left could be a Jap knockoff.....

The knockoffs had a rounder stubbier back end on them......like that one...the other two, the back end is narrower (unless it's just your camera making it look like that because it's close-up)

The knockoffs also had a different hook setup on them than the original Alaskans....I believe the originals came with trebles on them....

Hard to tell for sure though......you got trebles on the one that looks like a knock-off.

Those Alaskan plugs seem to be listed at anything between about $50 and $80 on E-bay so at least someone thinks they are rare and valuable.

The ones I had I bought in an antique shop for 2 dollars..........

They used to be a killer plug in the Alberni Inlet for staging Chinooks around Labor Day weekend.

At least that's what I'm told by the old salts there. I've tried them and they didn't work for me though.

True statement. During the Alberni salmon derby back in the 70's, this was a hot ticket plug.

What are the Alaskans made out of? Chromed metal or plastic? And it look like the top screws off. Maybe you can put your weed in there?

The Alaskans are made of metal......no...the top does not screw on......(I guess you could rework one for your personal use).

The sound of the trebles clanking against the metal body was a distinctive feature (when you had a fish on that fought near the surface but was hooked on just one of the trebles)

I don't like the chromed plastic plugs they make today (or the flashers).....the chrome comes off way too easy.

wow, Actually I have only three metal chrome plugs. I suspect that another two plugs used fishing a lot because they cut off swivel because I suspected that they were tried to open the old rusted screw were rust ,but they cannot open them for replace hooks so they did cut off the swivel and put a pair spring rings on them and put new hooks on them.

I looked at the Alaskan plugs have two different type. I assume that the original Alaskan plugs suppose to be have two triple hooks. In later time, they made a new version Alaskan plug have one single or triple hook?

Your right, in average the Alaskan plug worth about $ 50-$ 80. I saw someone sold the original Alaskan plug worth over $ 230.00

I think I am going to keep them. I will give the alaskan plug try this year ( middle of July to Aug) and see what happened.
