are these suitable as bait?

Wife came back from the pet feed place with a bag of anchovies. Be a while til I get to the coast so this bag is snacks for the dog. They’re always in stock for $11 a bag so I’ll grab some on our next trip down if they’re suitable for bait. They’re pre frozen so I guess the question is can I thaw em out and use them for bait or are they suitable only for dog treats?

could be a bit too small to fit in a teaser head and give a nice roll. I’d just rig one and test it from a dock. You probably need to salt the cr*p out of them to keep them on the hook.

i dont like the roll if the tails are burned off.

If they don't roll well enough for Salmon they'd still be good for tipping a bottom fishing rig.

Bellies will come out of them right away because they're not purged out like bait anchovies

If there is still scales on them maybe? as when brining bait especially anch if there is no scales they dont brine worth a crap...do a test batch .
