Anyone know how to change a bulb on a perko anchor light?

This is ridiculous. I know. But I can’t figure it out. I can unscrew the whole assembly but that doesn’t get me anywhere. I still can’t access the bulb.

doesn't the top translucent top unscrew from the black collar?

That’s what I thought but I can’t get it to move.

Vise grips and water pump pliers and still no movement.

It will come off. Try some big Channel-locks (gently) with a rag between. Instead of unscrewing try to pop it off with a twist outward.

No, it’s A 1340. Looks more like this except black

I thought it was a 1637 and sent a mesage to a guy selling one on ebay and he said on the 1637 the whole top needs to be unscrewed. the 2 pieces do not screw together. I do not know if that is the same for your model which appears to be discontinued

I had the same light. Mine was glued together and had to replace. Eventually took a hammer to it, which was fatal!
Bought a cheap one to replace on Amazon.

Yeah, I just heard back from Perko. It’s a sealed unit. I’m gonna be doing the same as you.

I used a 2 pound hammer, definitely felt some satisfaction as a new Perko light was $70. The amazon one was $20 and is the same style but I can change the bulb.
