Fishing: check the "Port Renfrew" thread http://www.sportfishingbc.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9339&whichpage=10
You're arriving at pretty much primetime, you should have fun. Bring (or get) a crab trap too.

Eating: Cook Shack at the marina does excellent takeaway breakfast/lunch, and has good nightly specials. Coastal Kitchen is my favourite place in town, good quality food, reasonable price, good drink specials

Drink: Luckys around the campfire first off. Port Renfrew Hotel is a good bet.

Showers: Hmm, not sure about that one. Lizard Lake about 5km inland has a swimming pier, shampoo and a bar of soap will get you a bath.

Good times!

John

I don't know about people soapin' up in our lakes and streams... there are way too few using ecologically friendly products. Most just use what they have at home and if everyone did that our lakes and streams would be in even worse situations... Lizard Lake is pretty small. Worried about ordour? How about a nice saltwater swim to kill the bacteria? No soap need, just ask a surfer!

If you never have fished there before ask around about the river, tides, rocks etc.Best to have a map gps.Go to the search function upper right a lot of good info, compass headings, hazards etc.Dan

They have public showers/washrooms/laundry facility on the main road into "town". I believe that they are right across from the Community Center but they could be a little further along, on your right hand side.

Good luck

Seafood, eat it, then catch more.

The shower facility etc is about half way to the Hotel on the right hand side it is attached to an small store/ RV park and there is yuppy fast food eatery right next to it.
