Any shortcuts to Thrasher rock from Nanaimo?

Hey wondering if there are any passable short cuts to get out to thrasher or if its just better to go around from Brechin past entrance island way?

I go between mudge and Gabriola and then through Gabriola passage but only if the tide is higher then 11’. It’s a little unsettling running at 24 knots and watching the sounder get to 5’…

I've bumped leg going through there myself but definately doable.
