Good morning gents.I never fished for halis either ,just wondering if you can see the devils on a fish finder.Also those jigs they use,about the size of a mans fist i see the giant plastic worm or the mother of all hootchies wich work best or does it matter.Is there a color peference,glows, darks? thanks for the excellent posting on the subject.

Can't usually see them on a sounder. You'll see the odd hump or pinacle on the bottom, which can attract them but you don't actually see the fish.

I havn't used jigs very much so I couldn't tell you which works best, but mudrakers (big hootchies) have a good reputation. Either way, I would use a spreader bar and bait out here. If you're drifting, you'll get hung up less because you're bouncing a weight off the bottom instead of your actual hooks, and if you're anchoring, you'll be putting out a big scent trail. Usually, I make it my goal to cram as much crap as I can on my hooks without covering them up.
