Well after an unfortunate outing and losing my swedish traps, I purchased a Bauer Sea trap in 24" and a round sport trap 18 inch.... I am not giving up on my quest for prawns.. I will get a tasty bucket of them sea bugs one way or another.IMG_6931.jpg:o

That is the spirit Jeffy.
If you had hit the motherlode the first trip, you would not have learned anything.
Education is not free, you have paid a substantial sum for something you will never forget!
Good luck with these traps!

Ya slowly learning how not to leave all my gear at the bottom..This Bauer sea trap was recommended to me by a Westcoast guide, it is supposed to be the most producing prawn trap in the pacific northwest, kinda excited to see what it can do .

Good for you jwc....back on the horse! The Bauer will out-prawn the round one for sure. Id hang five pounds on the bottom edge of your first trap and then 5-10 pounds about 10 feet from your last trap on your line. They catch better if they don't move much down there. Prawn pellets, herring oil, carlisle tuna cat food (cheep) and whatever else you may have that is oily is good bait. Good luck next time.

Thanks for the tip Westcap19 , i have two 5lb coated weights on scotty clips , was going to wait untill i have a couple more traps to use both weights but maybe giver a go with the two, i also have another 600' shot of rope and another scotchman for once i have four traps.., i just need a couple good trapfulls an i undoubtably will be buying more traps.
