Have done it many times, lol. Would not use it enough right now. But soon. It is very tempting though.....wonder what it would cost to make one from scratch. Have anchor and chain. What type of rope would be best? Size Scotsman?

You are TOO right.

Have you ever noticed when you see your wife come through the door with a bag with something in it and you ask,
"How much was that" they always answer with "it was 40% off" (or whatever percent it was) They never tell you how much they paid. Hahaha

Yes. But.... Already spent a bunch on boat this year. But then what's another 550? Will she leave me, kill me? Probably not, but I would feel guilty. Lol.

Merritboy you don't need $2/ft rope for your anchor. This set up is awesome i drooled over it at the derby but you can put an anchor together for a lot less using cheaper supplies. The Sampson braid is a luxury not a requirement I use 3 strand leaded line like you'd use for prawning. It's an old anchor - never a problem.
