I guess it depends are your version of normal. If your version is attending huge parties (50-100+ people) packed full of americans then yeah probably not happening for a while.

if your version of normal is having a BBQ with some friends and family then yeah i'd say no reason we should not expect to have that by June.

being able to see friends and family would turn my life back to 95% normal. Tho i suspect if you work in a tourist cruise ship industry then your sense of normal may be still awhile away.

I suspect this is exactly right. Cases will drop off as the weather improves and more people are outside. Just like last summer, it'll feel fairly normal for most of us, I think.

IF we can get our act together on vaccination, and get numbers up over the summer, then next fall won't be another big wave.

If we get to October and only have around 20% of people stabbed up with Microsoft chemtrail tracking nanobots, we'll have a solid third wave once the weather turns.

But I bet the summer is pretty much normal for most people.

Canada’s procurement efforts are disastrous for a G7 country

"Early on in the global frenzy for vaccine development and testing, Canada had negotiated a joint-testing program reportedly under the responsibility of then Innovation Minister, Navdeep Bains with a promising Chinese developer, CanSino Biologics. Mere days after Ottawa announced the program, Conservative Health Critic, Michelle Rempel Garner was told that the vaccine supplies set to be shipped to Canada for testing was being held by the Chinese General Administration of Customs in Beijing. Nevertheless, the CanSino vaccine prospect quickly slid down the Vaccine Task Force’s global rankings and recommendations, rendering any further efforts as futile.

While Justin Trudeau was wasting time trying to mend diplomatic ties with a Chinese government that wasn’t having any of it, other developed countries swiftly signed on with the most promising candidates in Pfizer and Moderna, as well as taking steps to boost domestic production capacity."

This was news a year ago. Glad to say that they were wrong. They underestimated what happens when we focus to get the job done and just how revolutionary this new mRNA vaccine is.

Repeating a lie doesn't make it true no matter how much you try.

@GLG , you need to tell us the 'truth' and stop the whataboutism in your posts here.
It is adding nothing dragging up old inaccurate news just to say, Phew, glad that was wrong.

Stating someone is trafficking in lies without providing evidence of the truth or the lies does not score any points for your side.
Looks like you have studied "How to answer to Liberal failures on the internet" as drafted by the boys in short pants at the PMO.

"Classic damned if you do/damned if you don't scenario."
I would argue that some of our politicians would even lie to make sure the current government is seen in its worst light. Truth be damned.

What about Pfizer?

This isn't the first time this has come up on this thread.

I am talking specifically of the CanSino vaccine.
That has come up a few times, you have called it a lie.
I have asked you specifically on this point before.
You deflect.

Something I learned in court early in my career, if you are wrong, and you will be wrong sometimes, admit it and move on quickly to being right.
The longer you stick with being wrong, the less your right stuff makes any impact.

The facts of the matter are that Trudeau et al placed blind faith in the CabSino deal. Trusting a recognixed geopolitical enemy, holding two of your citizens as political prisoners on trumped up charges, and at a time when "relations" were beyond strained was a serious lack of judgement. Failing to inform Canadians that the deal was nuked by the Chinese government was worse - entirely irresponsible.

As a consequence of that blind faith, Canada was behind the rest scrambling for line-ups with Pfizer & Moderna.
Another serious lapse in judgement.

No matter how GLG or anyone else wants to spin it, that is what occurred.

Lies?
Nope. Proven. Repeatedly.
More and more sticking to that line makes folks question your reliability GLG.

I made no such claim in the past that the CanSino deal was a lie like you are suggesting. Your just trying to put words in my mouth and then attacking me with them.

I don't know enough about the CanSino deal to give it an educated opinion on it. To me it's a pair of deuces in this poker game that is the lead up to the next election. This is something I have said in the past and IMHO is still true today.

You need to stop playing politics and help your community get a successful vaccination program off the ground and to completion. That way when we next gather, for lets say a fishing derby, we won't be missing some of our friends.

Telling me what I "need to do" while we all watch the incompetence being displayed right in front of us is a joke.
I am still in medical isolation GLG. Bored as hell, and pissed off at the mishandling of these matters.
So please DO NOT lecture me on what I should be doing. Save it for your liberal heros.

Canada to receive over 640,000 vaccine doses from Pfizer, Moderna this week

By Staff The Canadian Press
Posted February 22, 2021

Canada is poised to receive a record number of COVID-19 vaccine doses this week thanks to scheduled deliveries from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, as the country looks to speed up its vaccination efforts.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says it expects more than 640,000 shots from the pharmaceutical giants this week, which would represent the largest number of deliveries in a single week.

The previous record was set last week when Pfizer and BioNTech delivered more than 400,000 doses of their vaccine following a month-long lull while they expanded a production plant in Europe.

The two companies will ship more than 475,000 shots this week before scaling back slightly to 445,000 doses per week as they look to fulfil their commitment to deliver 4 million jabs by the end of March.

Canada will also receive 168,000 shots this week from Moderna, which ships its doses every three weeks. Unlike the Pfizer-BioNTech shots, Moderna’s are largely destined for northern and remote communities.

The expected influx of vaccine shots follows news on Friday that the millionth Canadian had received a first dose of either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine.

While the marker came weeks later than expected after nearly a month of shrunken shipments, it was nonetheless seen as one of several positive signs in Canada’s immunization drive.

Several provinces have moved to expand their vaccination offerings beyond the first priority groups in long-term care homes and front-line health workers thanks to the vaccine influx over the past two weeks.

You two just can't help yourselves can you. Been down this road before...keep your personal BS out of the forum. Your debates remind me of the old Miller Lite commercials with the Ex-NFL guys alternating yelling "LESS FILLING", "TASTES GREAT" And while we're at it, I will remind everybody, yet again, that if your posts simply state the Liberals suck or the Conservatives were, or would be worse, don't bother...everyone here already knows it and your debates go right back to the Miller Lite ad. Sheesh...can't wait for Covid to die off and fishing season to begin!

Have a nice day!

Do you have a source for that as I thought they were averaging around around 400-450K a day?
It sure helps to have vaccine manufacturer in country. Something we need to get back.

Only second hand news from family that still live there and you know how that goes! I did read on the BBC news that they did 660 000 in a day though. Not sure about the average per day but old Bozo Johnson seems on top of it.
