After being in the business of upgrading manufacturing plants for many years i can add a little perspective to that.
They wouldn't start ramping up untill they knew that they had a winner so not a year. Then they need to have space, procure the right equipment, get the right people and get all of there proper permits, ect, ect. my question is why promise product two months ago when by then they would have know by then that they where going to have to upgrade . These projects are in the planing phase long before they start.

Guarantee they underestimated their yield, cascaded yields and throughput in the manufacturing process. That would be my guess. It had too be significant enough.

Most likely rushed and moved, and transferred in development stage too fast, and is nightmare to make. Then sales talked before it delivered.

Either way its cluster....

Meanwhile us delivery’s are up 16% this week.

not sure in buying the this is a manufacturing issue not political that’s being sold right now.

they had an expert on the radio the other day that said one of the main reason Israel got so much vaccine was israel promised as part of the deal to send back to the company’s people’s personal health data related to vaccines.

I don't know any more than anyone else about the specifics of why it's going as badly as it is but I've watched enough hockey in my life to know one thing: good teams find ways to win, period.

If you have more excuses than goals, you're not good enough, and all the justifications in the world won't get you a cup.

Those of us that run businesses or operations know very well that just about any idiot can run the place when all is going well. It’s when the **** hits the fan is when you find out what someone is worth and what their real qualifications are. I think we are starting to see what happens when you put the fate of a nation in the hands of a bunch of incompetent fools. These people are incompetent of running a country and are not taken seriously on the world stage. When are people going to wake up and see this.
But rest assured the minions will vote them back in again,, just because.

Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca have all announced manufacturing delays and significant short shipments to every country that has ordered from them. No surprise given the intensity of the push to get the vaccines developed and into production.

But it's the politician's fault.

Pfizer is really screwing up any type of roll-out. How do you plan second doses if you give first doses and the planned second ones don't arrive. WTH.
It’s a double whammy, because if second doses aren’t given in time, the first ones were useless and we are back to square f*ckin’ one!

Not true but if you have a reputable source that says otherwise I'm willing to change my mind.

If it's affecting everyone roughly equally, that'll be easy to tell: we'll all remain in roughly the same order in terms of per capita vaccination.

If the order starts to change rapidly, that'll be a good indicator of what countries were prepared, and which system is working. I mean what other criteria could you use?

"We're playing great hockey out there and the only reason we're always losing is that a coach from several decades ago decided we didn't need our own goalie. But that's not an indicator that we're doing anything badly, it's just a tough league these days."

If we finish the season ahead of most of the other countries, we're good at playing NHL-level pandemic response.

If we don't, we're not. Any other take is pointless.

That’s good news then. I read that the second dose needs to be administered within 42 days or the vaccine becomes substantially less effective.

“With today’s results from our UK Phase 3 and South Africa Phase 2b clinical trials, we have now reported data on our COVID-19 vaccine from Phase 1, 2 and 3 trials involving over 20,000 participants. In addition, our PREVENT-19 US and Mexico clinical trial has randomized over 16,000 participants toward our enrollment goal of 30,000. NVX-CoV2373 is the first vaccine to demonstrate not only high clinical efficacy against COVID-19 but also significant clinical efficacy against both the rapidly emerging UK and South Africa variants,” said Stanley C. Erck, President and Chief Executive Officer, Novavax. “NVX-CoV2373 has the potential to play an important role in solving this global public health crisis.

Here is some info from the CDC on that.

The mRNA COVID-19 vaccine series consist of two doses administered intramuscularly:

  • Pfizer-BioNTech (30 µg, 0.3 ml each): 3 weeks (21 days) apart
  • Moderna (100 µg, 0.5 ml): 1 month (28 days) apart
Persons should not be scheduled to receive the second dose earlier than recommended (i.e., 3 weeks [Pfizer-BioNTech] or 1 month [Moderna]). However, second doses administered within a grace period of 4 days earlier than the recommended date for the second dose are still considered valid. Doses inadvertently administered earlier than the grace period should not be repeated.

The second dose should be administered as close to the recommended interval as possible. However, if it is not feasible to adhere to the recommended interval, the second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines may be scheduled for administration up to 6 weeks (42 days) after the first dose. There are currently limited data on efficacy of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines administered beyond this window. If the second dose is administered beyond these intervals, there is no need to restart the series.
