Adopting permanent daylight saving time

Which time are they on? Daylight, or standard?
Dawson Creek, British Columbia, stays on
Mountain Standard Time (MST) year-round (UTC-7) and does not observe daylight saving time. Because they do not change their clocks, they stay on the same time as Alberta in the winter and align with the rest of B.C. in the summer

Exactly what the emtertainment/restaurant/shopping community want to hear. This was their initiative, studies clearly show people spend more when it's light out. Same push behind the successful campaign to extend daylight saving out beyond Halloween.
Someone did a quick search and it suggests that 80% of the economy takes place starting with mornings, 20% would be for the restaurant, night life economy. Commuting might be safer with morning light.

Found it, WorkBC (https://www.workbc.ca/) seems to be a source.

Great, so a minority sector is forcing all of us to go to work in the dark.

The concern of kids to school in the dark is legitimate as we are not used to it
Any kid I see is driven to school and its bad enough to get them lil buggers up to go to school trust me kids will be fine, there is way bigger problems going on in world then keeping our clock ahead a hour after a while you wont even notice... you will still be out for first light in summer at 530 am and doing for first pass at 6am WE WILL survive!!!

This will not last. Its just like when they introduced family day on a different day from everyone else to make ski resorts happy. The problem this go around is that a kid or two or three are going to get killed by a car walking to school in the dark at 8:30AM before they realize the stupidity of it all. So for a political stunt his return will be blood on his hands. Sorry for the negativity, but I see this as inevitable.

It's not really about us. We need to think of the negative impacts on others. I remember how tough it is to get kids to bed when it's light out at 10 PM and later. And having them walk to school more in the dark is just dumb.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased that the biannual changes are going away. I just think the NDP should have left us on Standard time. Personally I'm past it having any real impact on me, but other folks will have issues with it.

Blackout blinds are the best to get kids to bed in summer. I’m not sure how they didn’t exist when we were kids. Or maybe my parents were just too frugal to pay for a good nights sleep

Of course there are bigger problems in the world, but this thread is about “adopting permanent daylight saving time”.
