Adhesive for Rigid Hull Inflatable

I have a West Marine RHI and the tubes are coming off at the transom, both side.

Wondering if anyone has had or seen this issue and what they used to glue it back together?

I’m guessing it’s a PVC type material

That’s major structural repair so I’d stick with a two-part for maximum strength

Poly Marine makes a respectable two part adhesive … make sure it is specifically for PVC and NOT for hypalon

The solvent for prepping the material and cleaning off spilled adhesive etc when finishing up the job is MEK (A methyl ethyl ketone —not acetone which is associated with hypalon repair)

I should have taken members advice and scrapped an inflatable with tubes separated from the transom. I repaired it but it didn’t last. Right now new Suzuki inflatables are being dumped on the market and likely others, so it may be worth buying new or newer used.

I think they can be made of PVC , hypalon or EPDM. I have some amazing adhesive at the shop that I got about 10 years ago. Super strong bonds. I'll be back to Victoria on Tuesday and get the details.

I've patched and repaired handles and other attachments that have come off, but for a major repair like that I would take it to an inflatable repair shop.

I believe it is PVC, the reading I have been doing says that if it's grey on the back it's PVC and if it's black it's Hypalon

Can anyone recommend where to get it professionally fixed for the fact I'm not feeling confident enough to do it. ? I'm in Cobble Hill but can trailer it wherever needed

BearCove - give Airbourne Inflatable a call. He's in Sidney. I used him for tear from beaching. Very happy with the result.
