New scientific advice on Pacific Spiny Dogfish was published in July 2025 through the Canadian Science Advisory Secretariat. Due to conservation concerns about the status of Pacific Spiny Dogfish, coastwide non-retention will be in effect during the 2026-27 recreational fishing season.

There was a guy on here last year wanting to target them. I've never kept one. When I first got my boat, I caught a bunch of them. I didn't catch one for a while though until last year we got one.
