9.9CT vs 9.9 pro kicker

I have a 17' Arima. My next boat will likely be a 19' hard top Arima or possibly something like an 18'6 Silverstreak. I currently have a 90hp Mercury and it is fantastic, no issues. I am in the market for a new kicker and considering a Merc 9.9, 20" shaft, mounted on a bracket. I like the idea of power tilt and electric star but not sure if it's worth the added thousand bucks. Do I really need the pro kicker on such a light boat? Both models are EFI.

Thanks.

I've never had the pro kicker until my current boat which came with one. I'm not sure I'll ever go back... unless I have to buy one myself ;)

What I do know is that in an 18-19ft boat, I prefer to steer from the helm where I can see the sounder and plotter. But in larger boats, I'd probably want to be able to steer from the stern and be closer to the rods and have a sounder/plotter screen somewhere back there where I can see it... which adds cost but hey, it's a boat, what do you expect lol

I learned today the difference between the 9.9 CT and 9.9 pro kicker is power tilt, electric start and ten lbs, everything else is the same. 800 buck add on , seems worth it not to have to lean over the back in a chop to lift the engine.

Easier it is to run the more you will use it!
