I heard there was an 88 lb spring caught and released in Milbanke. Can anyone confirm this. If its true what a monster and good on them for releasing.
I worked for Cassiar Packing on the Skeena in the 70's and saw numerous 70 plus pounders weighed in off the seiners in those days. Been a while since I've seen anything in that range.
Fished Langara with West Coast Fishing Club this June. They highly encourage releasing anything over 30. You get a free Islander if you release a 50 or over. Sadly, they seem to hold the fish in their arms for a picture. This COULD cause problems; down in WA it is illegal to take a fish being released out of the water.
