2825 Harbercraft Kingfisher

I don't have any personal experience with them, but I have never liked the low profile of these boats. IMO a 28 boat should have higher sides and bow to take on rougher water more safely. They look like overgrown river boats to me. Either this guy has a boat from a bad prodution day or this company has some real quality control issues. My 2 bits.

Low profile for sure. ..... makes me wonder what the visability is like being so low to the water. ......I don't think any are used on the South island for charter work which is not a good sign. ........was really hoping someone could comment on how they do in rough water but then everyone has their own opinion on what is rough.. ... you don't see many around which is also not a good sign. ....

This Guide company is on Gabriola island and he has a 28 foot boat. From what I have heard speaking with some americans in that Jet Craft which is HarbourCraft American name does not have the best reputation south of the boarder. There are at least 2 kingfisher being used a different guide companys in Shearwater B.C one of them is called Central Coast Charters. They also run a Kingfisher at the Shearwater Lodge for one of the guide boats. I don't know if the Go Fish Charter guy is on this fourm but I put a link to his website below.

low in the water is awesome for not getting blown around in the wind.. i have been in some big water in my boat and feel very safe, the bow combing breaks most of the wash weight to the windshield..
no weld problems, finish is good,, built in vernon, it does "bob" in the rollers because it is light,, but this also gives me awesome mileage.. 2625 with a 9'6 beam. 225 honda doesnt make it scream but my fuel bill is good comparing to other guides doing the same runs.. gonna read what he has to say about his 28.... i love mine!!!

I have a 2525 Kingfisher ( Reel Escape) and love it, hada few issues at the start, all electrical but sorted out, do lots of offshore fishing out of Bamfield, 225 Yamaha averages 7-8 gph with 3-4 people at crusing speed and that includes the kicker usage for 6-8 hours per day.

As far as any issues with the jet boats Harbourcraft has work very hard to make things right.
