2026 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound- Sechelt Report Thread

Unfortunately not. With all the technology these days, someone needs to figure out some kind of alarm or something!
Motion sensing game camera linked to your cell phone. Take a Pic of approaching boat and person pulling traps. But attached to an all around camera. So no blind sides. On a buoy attached to trap line.
I have no idea how to do it. But the tech exists.

What a beautiful day, I see some off you regulars and know some of you lurkers ( yes I’m talking to you) are out there today, let’s get some reports for us that aren’t fishing.
😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛
Waiting……
Not too many rods bouncing out here, got a 64cm in the box, a bunch that were close.

Found its clone about an hour later. Went home with 2, great day out there.

Came up for the day. Pounded bottom from 70-170 fow around the bell. Lots of shorts. Only good one that big seal grabbed. Chased him for 20 min but he won. Got our gear back though. Wind made it sloppy in the afternoon and almost came in. Decided to run way west and troll in with the waves. Good late afternoon bite produced two nice fatties and one barely legal and 2-3 runners lost. Came in at dark. 4” spoons did the trick

You talking QA kinda West or Hump West?

Speaking of the Hump, whens the earliest guys get them out on the Hump proper.
I was without a boat for 15 years, but 2000 to 2010 had banger days at the hump in the spring just cant recall how early.

It's probably worth a look before the closure but I think it was more of a mid April and into end of May.

Yeah it was more like a May June thing. I tried in recent years toward the end of the open season a couple times and you just couldn't get through all the little guys. If anyone thought the bell or the harbour was a daycare this time of year, that place was like the maternity ward.

Used to get some really nice ones out at the hump from early april ( 20lb class fish ) until we swapped our efforts over to the offshore fishery at thrasher . Big tomic plugs and spoons to keep the dinks off , sometimes felt like you were fishing the offshore banks out of bam and ukee.

Here’s a nice one from April 10 years back . I always check it out before it closes these days and sometimes get lucky with a good one
