2026 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound- Sechelt Report Thread

Tried the hump for a bit, nothing, ended up crossing to thrasher, finally found some fish but all undersized, pretty slow didn’t see any nets out just smalls, at least the crab didn’t mind the water at the bell. That’s it for me locally for a while, good luck out there guys in the next few days
Cheers

Don’t know. Looks like the Fraser water has taken over the entire area
The Fraser water at this time of year can be just mud coming down. Often on ebb tides, the water around the bell is blah from surface to bottom. You won't have much luck hitting anything. Once the tides changes and pushes in, it clears up and you will have a lot more success.

Yeah it seemed like the brown water stretched for ever, way more than usual

Hmmm so your saying I should skip work again and try Tuesday afternoon 🤔

3 keepers 65-68cms at Gabriola. Suspended on spoons.
I think I seen you when I pulled out from lunch at Silva bay, black boat? you had the entire area to yourself, was going to drop gear there but decided to go back and try thrasher again,
What boat are you rockin? that thing looks like a beast!

Haha! Good eye. A few boats passed by, a cpl stayed but largely had the place to ourselves.

The boat is one of those Chinese rigs. Gospel boats. Was supposed to be 33ft but tapes at 36ft - made me question why else they got wrong by that margin but so far no material issues!

What a beautiful day out there, ripples across the straight. I had Gower pretty much to myself. Lots of action with 50 cm class fish at all depths. Found a 63 & a 64 just before sunset.+ 4 crabs. Greensplatter back and charteuse glow and purple onion glow- purple was hot unril i dropped it over board somehow.

We fished defence to portoue hard yesterday with only smalls and one good fish lost when the hook came off my all chrome coyote 4.0- so strange-
I wish I would’ve had some anchovies to roll-a few other bolts around, but seemed fairly quiet all around-that’s it for me until we get another opening possibly for a slot fish or something-

That is too bad!! I had a hook come off this summer on a luhr jensen koho king on a great fish... I now switch up hooks on those spoons or use the coho killers for that size presentation. My coyote 5.0 now is rocking a 6/0 owner siwash its not coming off ;)

Yeah, I made the same mistake with a koho king and factory hook. Landed the fish, but the hook was so bent. I couldn’t believe he stayed on.
Lesson re-learned
I can't find any info from DFO online. Is today the last chance for chinook area 28 & 29? Thanx
Yes, DFO website doesn’t update until day of.

You need to look at the DFO fishery notices page. All the info is there.
