I fished Esperanza for salmon and ling.
No keepers. 8-9 fish to the boat. First time here, any advice on halibut spots

Took a mid April trip out to Nootka last weekend. Prawning was OK although after we set in front of Cougar Creek and did ok on day 1 we came back on day 2 to find about 20 traps all around ours. We moved and found some elsewhere but it is sad how people look for floats and just dump theirs so close they get tangled. Everyone knows this spot can get busy but give your lines length of space when setting around others. Went offshore for some early season lings and it was on fire. all 12-15lbers and with 5 people on the boat we were limited out in under 2 hours, one oversize halibut released that we found on a rock pile. Great weather and great trip to start the year!
