2025 Prince Rupert Fishing Reports

Heading out this weekend before things close up. Where are they hitting fish? Avery, Eddy etc? Never been to the brain so might rip up Saturday if the winds hold. Worth a trip to the brain?

If only you knew someone to text 😉 Holliday and balls been good up north been windy this week so light pressure at Avery and the odd nice fish in edye pass

Long shot but any charters that have availability for an afternoon fish July 10-13 will be there working for the week . Would be nice to get out for a fish. Any leads let me know

Cheers

Fishing is as fast as you can put rods in the water.
Whole south end of Melville all the way to the balls/holliday.
Mostly cohos but there is chinooks swimming by underneath. Been getting 5-10 nice chinooks a day trying to get coho.
Halibut are fairly stacked right in Chatham sound pick any rock! Hardest part right now is trying to find something to do after 8 am!

Awesome to here. Another 3 weeks to wait before my trip.

Any recent news fellas?
Insane one day then slower the next fish still moving around a bunch.
Good network of guys up here keeping most people on fish.
Avery has been dead
Hamner has been consistent
Edye pass holding some nice chinooks
Dundas has been great but might have to move a couple times to find the bigger schools of cohos/chinooks find the bait find the fish

Heading up on Aug. 17 for a 10 day trip, brining two different groups up. How’s the fishing going? Any Chinooks still around at that time of the season?

First day fishing Friday Aug 15th. Tried Humpback bay. One coho, three pinks and five rock fish. All caught trolling. White hoochie was the top performer. If the weather cooperates I my try work channel tomorrow.

Saturday the weather was bad and we did not go out. Today I did a solo trip to work channel. There was better action for coho. I kept 3 plus a pink since it was a bleeder. No bananas spoon out fished everything else. Caught 3 pinks on a watermelon apex behind a six once weight. Coho were full of large herring and juvinile salmon.

Monday and Tuesday fished around Work channel and Parkin Islets. Action came in flurries in the morning and at noon. Then it would die off. Managed to catch four good size cohos. All were caught on spoons. 35 feet on the downrigger was the most productive depth. I tried going down as far as 125 feet but only caught small rochfish and shakers. Caught a bunch of pinks first thing in the morning. Wind picked up and we called it quits at around 2 pm.

A few pictures from this years trip. One of the lings I caught had octopus in its stomach. I used the octopus as bait to catch my halibut. Nice way to finish off the trip. BFC57175-CEF1-4C12-8E5D-A776F592C670.jpeg
