2025 Campbell River Reports

We fished Toba Dean Point yesterday morning for 4 hours and it was pretty quiet. Released 3 small springs, one might of been legal. A few other hits but nothing substantial. There were 3 guide boats at Dean but we didn’t see them net anything of size. We only saw one or two boats at Brettell. Wilby Shoals late in the day was hot again with a much higher percentage of clipped.

early this week i’ve literally never seen so much bait at Francisco / Green Can. big horse herring that i was accidently snagging while jigging couple days later it must have moved on or got hoovered up by the humpbacks

I see the first row boat out fishing the flood at the Tyee pool this morning and out again now. Fair bit of westerly.
I realize there is a Tyee pool forum but couldn't find it. cheers

Made it to the green can this afternoon, looking for coho for the kids and hoping for springs down deep on the one downrigger with a cover and counter, lost my other hp cover yesterday on the highway. Ended up getting a hatchery coho at 265 feet on the rigger and another at a mystery number. Cop car. Got to help my 6 year old nephew net his dad’s coho and his dad helped him reel one in. Gaff released 3 wilds. All three kids had a nap, my daughter in my arms on the way in. Cousins enjoying their summer as much as we did back before iPads and the internet. Nice to have my daughter out in a bit of chop, and she even wanted to pick up and punch the dead coho.

how much longer are you in CR?

Another good afternoon on the hump end of the flood, loads of bait, plugs 150-200, boated 3 springs in 1.5 hours and one of my friends got seasick so we pack it in… light rollers nothing too bad haha

Fished the hump and green can Tuesday and Thursday. 5 to 8pm. Hooked into a few but seems very slow. New to fishing here and wondering if I’m missing something. Hootchie and flasher at 130 to 200 on the downrigger. Trolling with lines at 45 degrees with 18lb cannon balls. Any tips?

Fished Sentry, a few boats, picked up a nice hatchery coho, a couple wild coho and a few undersized springs released.

Shot up to the green can, there had to be at least 50 boats, almost right away got a decent spring at 120'.

Nah, it's slow at this exact moment.
Could change tomorrow...

It’s basically a matter of putting the time in and hopefully finding decent amounts of feed. What you’ve been doing seems OK. My recent success has all been on plugs between Hump and about half way down to the light. Fish with the tide, not against it. Good luck to you.
Sounds good, I’ve been hearing plugs have been working well so I think I’ll be switching up next time out.

Yep, the ones I have caught have been on nekkid 602's.
Big and small have worked, still slow though.
At least they are easier to pull up from the deep than flashers.
