2015 Seattle Boat Show

Went last year, it's a big one! Stayed at Silver Cloud across the street, nice place and fair pricing. Don't forget the big box fishing/hunting store on the South side of Safeco field under the overpass. It's a 15 min walk from the boat show. It's worth the walk!!

Thanks Barrie. I've been going down for the last 4 or 5 years now. That Oudoor Emporium is a great store:). Unfortunately this is going to be a combo boat show / shopping trip for the Mrs. I'm not going to be able to stop at all of my favourite stores:(. There's going to be a few new boat models I want to check out and talk to the Nice Viking lady about life rafts. A person always bumps into some of the black and red site folks while at this show:rolleyes::p. Should be fun again.

Sculpin, we talked with her last year too! She is a pistol! Lol. Pricing was great on rafts and Safety stuff. My buddy was looking for stuff for his trip to Alaska. He got his old one re-packed and tested. I think I saw a great deal on new hard shell rafts over on Bloody Deck Washington. There was a bulk buy on new rafts BUT they needed to be re-inspected for commercial use. Not sure if all the details but now I gotta go look and see

Probably going down with my son on the first Friday. Might head down Thursday night, stay over, and do the show and shops Friday working our way home.

Here we go with the photos for all of those that didn't make it down. I went with the Mrs.this year and it was different for sure. Not a lot of time for me to cover the show. I took in what I could in the 3 hours or so I had. Please forgive me if I didn't take pictures of what you wanted lol!!!

Of course we have to start off with the alloys. This 33' Kingfisher is a beast. It is totally unlike their other boats. Bruce Cope designed. Burly and huge!!!

Dwarfs the 28 sitting next to it.

Of course to power the beast you need twin V8 Yammy's.

This model was going for around 375 g. if memory recalls. Totally different boat than the other bigger Kingfishers. This one yells out thick and burly. I liked it. No flexing decks, solid doors and hatches, better interior finishing etc.. The aft deck layout still needs homework IMO for hardcore fishing.

There were so many people at this show it wasn't funny. I had about 10 seconds to check out the interior. There were floods of people in and out of the hot boats. Really hard to take pictures. Probably the most packed Seattle boat show I have attended. This was Saturday mid afternoon.

Northriver is on a big come back from their fiasco a few years back. Their new models really look good!!! Still the basic proven Almar hull but they have really improved upon the finish and updated the interiors.

I was really impressed with the fit and finish on them. The welds looked great and no extrusions used on the hull.

Price was right in there with some other popular chlorox bottle boats of the same size.

Here are the head turners for sure.......

Unlike any outboard before. Time will tell.

Saw them on quite a few boats.

I like the color option thing but black is black lol.

Speaking of black, Mercury has a new commercial version of their fourstrokes.

Apparently it is slightly detuned for everyday use and has a slightly beefed up gear case.

The local manufacturer's are very supportive of their football team.

Here is a Thunderjet Offshore model with the Seahawks logo and colors.

There were a few others as well that had boats all custom painted up cheering on the Seahawks. Really cool to see the support:cool:.

Ok, ok, please don't give me too much flak for posting up chlorox bottle, ping pong ball, or better known as fiberglass boats. I like to look at them too :o.

This particular one caught my eye due to the design. You don't see too many walk around fiberglass boats anymore. Still too Sperry Topsider for me but it was worthy of pictures.

Defiance seemed to need a model between their popular 25 Admiral pilothouse and the flagship 29 Guadalupe. They came out with a 27' model.

Back to my love of alloy. ARMSTONG!!!!

Totally custom built tanks. What is not to love. This one happened to be a cat. They mostly build cats these days but they will still build you a monohull.

I really liked their interior features like the back to back simple front passenger seat flip system.

The captains chair would make any grown man get excited. I sat in that thing and with all the room around you, feet on the rails below, hands on the wheel and controls.........well that was the best helm station I saw at the show. Great boats.

I think that's all I got folks. Sorry for the short one. I tried to cover as much as I could but the wife was bored to death. I talked to my buddy Goatram for about 20 minutes and that was the best 20 minutes of the show for me lol. That's how it goes sometimes. I got some answers for buddies and will most likely get a 6 man Viking life raft this spring. Other than that, until next year :).

Cheers,
Sculpin
