You have to learn to take what some guides or lodges say with a grain of salt. Remember they have a business to promote, what do you want them to say,, it sucks don't come out. They wouldn't last very long would they. On the other hand most of the guides on this site are pretty straight forward about what is happening. I for one like their reports as usually they are a true report of what is happening out there and what can be obtained if you get it right.

Yes you are missing something-I believe that is their mailing address-certainly not where the marina is. If you know Nootka it's about 2 to 300 yards from Camel rock in the direction of Gore Island.- or if looking at the San carlos light from camel ,Tuta is to the left along the camel rock shore. Can't remember the name of the channel. So looking at mapquest for Tuta marina and campground, typed in 490 Eagle Cres, Gold River and its not near the water. Am I missing something. It is right in the middle of the town.
Back from Nootka and Critter Cove last week fishing the 18th through Wednesday 22nd. Fishing was pretty good for us. Perplexed by the slow reports. Fish were smaller than years past but plentiful. Had at least two fish at the boat every morning before 6:30AM fishing Hoiss and close proximity. Released a lot of smaller 10-16# and had numerous other hookups. Could have limited out by Monday but we did a lot of catch and release looking for fish in the 20s. Ended up with only one at 22# and the other 11 in the 14-19# range. Tomic Cop Car and 727 in 5" and 6" where the ticket for us. Ran them with a false flasher on the ball at 40-50 feet. Came home with a 34 and 41# halibut for icing on the cake. Great trip.
Me too...perplexed...was there roughly the same dates. Limits for all boats we knew at Critter; which was 5 or 6. A 602 coloured hoochie was the ticket for us 35 to 42. Though I must say for the first time in a few years Hoiss was a complete waste of time for us.
