You bet... :)

Charts look good. I'm going to give it a rub.

Did you make it out Birdsnest? That nice looking patch that is sitting right out there at Loudon moved in a bit today. The chloro break is right there as well. I have read that is a good thing.

I talked to him. 5 boats went out (i didn't go) and only one fish total. They didn't find the bluewater, such is tuna hunting

Skunked again. The charts looked good so off I went. No Blue water, we went 0 4 1 and another boat went 1 4 2 and there may have been another bite or two but not much. Saw tuna jump in front of the boat three times at 40 miles on the way in. Cast at those but no go. That was more on the edge of the temp break but we fished mostly the cloro break out at 50-55 miles. No problems with water temps finding water up to 60/16. I am stating to wonder if bottom structure is part of the equation. We always seem to get them in "spots". Fish tofino is right to call it hunting for that is what it is like. When I get skunked I just think of deer hunting and how hard it seems to be for me so I just keep trying. Maybe I have one more tuna trip in me yet. maybe.

I agree about the bottom structure as i usually do the best on the edges of the canyons.....perhaps it's the upwelling?

IF the conditions align i would love to join you for another trip. There are some members on here that are chomping at the bit to go and i would love to take them out with me.

Tuna Run

Will be in Bamfield 19th to 23rd and want to go hunting the 20th and/or 21st and/or 22nd weather permitting. Looking for buddy boat(s) so if there is anyone interested, please let me know.

I'll go fish that green water on the temperature edge again but maybe try some new tactics. Myself as a commercial diver am well knowing that what we see on the surface for water clarity does not indicate the conditions at deeper depths. while there is no way of knowing without doing a dive I suspect there is a possibility of clear water below. I hate the down riggers for tuna but maybe its time to slow down a bit and get my junk down deeper and also introduce some salmon flashers to attract. Maybe use some slower patterns like the turd etc. I know there are fish in that green water, I've seen them and caught them on many other occasions. I just really REALLY prefer the blue water for a plethora of reasons.
