1981 Double Eagle gets a second chance

I am doing great now. Some of the medication I am on that slows my heart rate limits what I can do as far as getting back to running any distance or pushing myself at the gym. I only need to be on them for a year then I should be good to go. My wife does not want me making any solo Bamfield trips for a while so friends and family will be forced to come fishing. Hahaha.

lets be honest it is such a beauty place and should be shared

Holy sh!! Good to hear you pulled through that’s a scary situation. Life changing events like that have a way of giving you a different perspective. Wish you and the family well enjoy a season of boating, fishing and relaxing.

Bottom paint done, looking forward to my week off coming up so I can take it out for some adventures. The second picture is an angle that I love seeing how much flare the Double Eagle has.

That flare is what sold me... Looking great!

Today I upgraded my wiper motors to a dual speed with Park function very happy with how it all turned out. Also installed some foot rests

Wednesday I Had a chance to take the boat for a run. Plan was to run from Alberni to Bamfield for some fishing but my luck it was windy and my dad was not up for a rough trip. We decided to try for some sockeye but no luck. We did find it very amusing, however, listening to the commercial fisherman chatter on the VHF about how ****** the fishing was. And how many boats had run through their nets. The run back from China Creek to Alberni was a good test for the old Double Eagle 1.5 to 2 foot chop with the odd three footer and it handled it with ease kept the cruise speed at 22 miles an hour and even when you hit a three footer, the flare would just push the water out, not a drop on the windshield and no banging or slapping she cut into the waves with ease I was super impressed. I’m super happy with the boat many more days of fishing to come.

Thank you, this is a great community and have had lots of support which I very much appreciate

What a beautiful restoration, I haven't made it all the way through your project, but I really like the new roof and window detail. I am sorry to hear of your health issues, that is scary as all get out. hope you have a full recovery.
I've just begun a 21' 1981 campion 210 discovery outboard rebuild, and will definitely be taking some inspiration from your build when I get past the structural portion.
