My old Yamahas haven't let me down in 1800 hours. Still running perfectly. Can't bring myself to switch.Do a displacement comparison with other brands at that HP.
Note that Yamaha continues to build the 200 I4 with a pair of geared balancing shafts that turn at 2x the engine rpm.
The boat had an 8 previously and it was fine. Boat sits kicker side heavy as it isHave you thought about going with a 25hp kicker?
Think the 25 hp is fuel injected vs carb on the 9.9. About a 40lb weight difference is all.
Thanks I will check them out.For consideration

It may be a little out of your way but Howe Sound Marine in Lions Bay is a Yamaha dealer and Keith really knows his stuff.
Lordship Marine has a pair of 200's (F(&L)200XCB's in stock).I am looking to repower this fall. Twin 200's and 9.9 kicker. Yamaha. Any recommendations for shops in the lower mainland? Was thinking of Galleon as they are a KF and Yamaha dealer.
Thanks in advance.
