So, if you followed an earlier thread of mine, you will know that our <400 hour Yamaha 250 decided to have a bearing issue. This caused it to start, run, then continually go into Safety mode. We decided to repower and have done such. I now have a Yamaha 250 up for parts, or if someone has a line on a short block, long blocks etc, it would likely make a really good project to work on. I have seen the same lower leg going for 2-3K USD.

That, plus the ECU, plus the cowling etc can all go for 2K OBO, including controls, shifter, etc. Not even sure if this is in the ballpark - if it is too high, my bad, if it is too low, even more my bad :). Let me know if you are interested. It is presently sitting on a motor pallet in the back of my truck, so consider me motivated. The motor is a 2011 serial model F250 TXR.

That whole situation stinks.

Good deal, I know someone who might want it?

i mean…. a cowling in good condition is worth a small fortune. i know a guy with a newer yammy 250 who had his boat in storage and the storage company ran a forklift into his cowling. the insurance replacement was almost 4k just for the cowling.

Seems to be some interest in this. Here are a few pics showing the unit. Note that prop is gone (put on replacement) and I will be taking off the rudder anode if it fits as the replacement motor is in need.

Will likely post this to Marketplace later this weekend but will wait to see if it helps anyone here first.
